FESTIVAL OF TREES Sponsored by Varnado Store Museum

ADMISSION: FREE

-a sparkling display of Christmas trees

-an auction for fully decorated trees delivered to your doorstep

-crafts by area residents, craftsmen, artists

-food and drinks available

-a visit and picture with Santa

-Christmas music by area groups throughout the weekend

-Fully decorated Tree Raffle open to all visitors (to be delivered )

(Held at the same time as the Mile Branch Settlement Pioneer Christmas)

All are sure to give the visitor a delightful Christmas weekend and bring on the Christmas spirit. A family event for all ages.

ADMISSION: FREE Donations appreciated.

The century-old general store, non-profit museum is dedicated to preserving local history and providing educational and entertaining opportunities for all ages. Open every weekend with changing monthly exhibits, the museum also displays items from a general store as its permanent exhibit, providing a nostalgic look at days gone by.

A gift shop is open with homemade jellies and more. Special highlighted item for sale in the shop is a 1910 reproduction booklet about life along the New Orleans and Great Northern Railroad, including photographs and delightful historical information about Tylertown, MS, Washington and St. Tammany parishes - Franklinton, Bogalusa, Covington, Mandeville, Slidell, Abita Springs, Bayou Lacombe.
