The century-old general store/museum in Washington Parish once again offers an exciting and educational display of memorabilia for the months of October and November,

The Washington Parish Fair is nationally known as the second largest fair in the United States. It is uniquely operated completely by volunteers who want to continue the traditions of this annual event that began in 1911. Though the “country fair” spirit is evident, it is much more. Music, food, entertainment, pro rodeo and the historical Mile Branch Settlement are prominent features.

Check web site for schedule TBA.

The museum's permanent display gives the visitor a step back in time to browse the pre-1950 general store. In addition special emphasis exhibits in the center of the store are changed each month to highlight topics important to the history of the area and to entice visitors to come back often. See the 2006 schedule online.
