APRIL AND MAY 2006 -  "100 Years - 100 Photographs:  Life Along the Tracks to Our Community"

(The museum, through a grant by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, will create a display of photographs depicting life that may have been seen through the windows of the train in southeast Louisiana in the early 1900's.  It's held at this time to acknowledge the advent of the railroad in Washington Parish in 1906 and its influence on the population of this remote area and to reveal daily life through many old photographs, including churches, schools, families, homes, communities, depots and trains, logging and farming, and more.  Guest speakers will include Dr. E. Russ Williams and Dr. Samuel Hyde, Jr. )
